Global Climate Strike

Holding power to account

I was approached by PUSH Collective to collaborate on their 2019 Global Climate Strike campaign.

The insight was a counter-narrative to that of the climate deniers, coal lobby and shock jocks: Australians from all walks of life were fed up with our government’s climate policies, not ‘just greenies and naïve school kids’.

Our leaders needed a reality check and our aim was to deliver it by getting as many people to the strike as possible.

To motivate people who’d never protested before to take to the streets, we let them know their opinions on climate weren’t fringe, that they were, in fact, shared by the majority.

In the lead up to the strike, as sections of the government and media sought to divide, we united seemingly disparate groups of people under the banner of I’m Change.

With street posters, placards, t-shirts, badges, and digital pieces that were liked and shared around the world, we created a campaign that empowered people. It said every voice matters, and every voice together can bring about change.

I’m Change was a finalist at the 2020 AGDA Design Awards in the Best Writing category. It also featured in the 2022 Melbourne Design Week exhibition Design Shift: Create Change, which celebrated creativity striving for the greater good.
