Providing pathways out of family violence

WISHIN is a not-for-profit in Melbourne’s north supporting women experiencing family violence and homelessness.

I was brought in to help restructure and rewrite their website. In the process, I developed a tagline and a brand campaign they could tuck away and use when budget permitted.

The whole experience has stayed with me.

Learning my mere (male) presence in the WISHIN office could trigger anxiety for some of their clients was an eyeopener. As was being unable to feature certain clients in communications because of concerns they might be identified and tracked down by violent ex-partners.

Here's to the day when WISHIN and organisations like them are no longer needed.
